Pinay mom parenting her Caucasian/Filipino daughter in suburban America.
The waffle photos at (my new best friend)Manesha’s blog reminded me of what Mary had for breakfast over the weekend. Weekends— that glorious time when you can sleep in… except when you have hungry mouths wanting to be fed. And usually, this is the time when mommies (or daddies) can take the time to MAKE breakfast. And invariably, it is pancakes or waffles that make for a Weekend Breakfast.
Mary wanted pancakes. But she wanted the pancakes that came in a yellow box, the breakfast happy meal at McDonalds. (Yay! I don’t have to cook!!!) She had not had this in a while so, why not?
Not bothering to change out of our pajamas, we grabbed our jackets and got in the car. It is a 2-minute drive to our neighborhood Mickey-D’s so in no more than 10 minutes, Mary was in pancake (and sausage) heaven.

Mary is my "I'm Not a Baby!" daughter and this is my blog about her and our life in suburban America. Parenting tales, our travels and travails, forays into great and not-so-great restaurants, kitchen adventures--- all chronicled with as much photos as you can stand. Comments are very much appreciated --- let me know you dropped by! Thank you.

Oh yeah! We are guilty of doing the same many times! Although now we prefer homemade ever since we switched to the multigrain pancake mix. Try making it into a Dad and daughter tradition [wink] - then Jack has all the pleasure of spending time with Mary while you get to sleep on!
