Pinay mom parenting her Caucasian/Filipino daughter in suburban America.
It is that time of the year for those areas that observe Daylight Saving Time to revert back to Standard Time. Happened at 2 am this morning and it is generally suggested that you move your clocks back the night before.
I don’t. I love waking up (I have not used an alarm clock for over 10 years now), glancing at the clock and then, realizing , it’s not 6 am, its 5 am! I can snooze!!!! There’s no danger of forgetting as we have an Atomic Clock in the living room and cable TV will show the correct time.
Jack was happy that he can get an extra hour’s sleep.
Mary said, “How come Daddy gets an extra hour’s sleep?”
To which I replied, “Everybody gets an extra hour’s sleep.”
“I DON’T WANT an extra hour’s sleep!!!!”
It took quite a bit of creative explaining before Mary was assured that she can use her extra hour for whatever she wanted.
So, this morning, she wakes up and says, “Mommy, I know what I want for my extra hour. I want to lay on your lap and cuddle.”
Awwww…. And I had wanted to use mine for blogging…. Silly me.

Did you get an extra hour today? How did you spend it?
Mary is my "I'm Not a Baby!" daughter and this is my blog about her and our life in suburban America. Parenting tales, our travels and travails, forays into great and not-so-great restaurants, kitchen adventures--- all chronicled with as much photos as you can stand. Comments are very much appreciated --- let me know you dropped by! Thank you.

I’m with your daughter — I don’t want an extra hour’s sleep!! Usually I spend the pre-dawn hours lying there wondering when the heck it will be okay for me to get out of bed. Am I wierd or what??

I love that your daughter wanted to cuddle with you. Good for you for taking her up on it. Thanks to your blog, I found out it was Daylight Savings and was actually on time for church. Thanks for visiting my blog. I hope you will keep coming back.
