I would have said the same thing you did while the longer version of your answer is running through my mind. I would have also wanted to say, "Honey, it's okay to love other people but don't always expect them to love you back." But then, would a kid understand that?

Do kids really "fall in love" at such a young age now? To think my hubby says our daughter can't have a boyfriend until she's 30!</description>
